The Association of Pacific Rim Universities — a consortium of 60+ leading research universities spanning the Americas, Asia, and Oceania.

The Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) is a consortium of approximately 60 leading research universities bordering the Pacific Ocean, established in 1997. Members include Stanford, UC Berkeley, Caltech (Americas), University of Tokyo, Peking University, Tsinghua, Seoul National University, NUS (Asia), and University of Melbourne, ANU (Oceania). APRU facilitates collaboration on Pacific Rim challenges including sustainability, digital transformation, global health, and natural hazards. The organization runs student exchange programs, joint research initiatives, and annual conferences. With member institutions collectively enrolling over 3 million students and employing 500,000+ faculty, APRU represents significant intellectual capacity around the Pacific basin.
