Bachelor's Degree

An undergraduate degree typically requiring 3-4 years of study, including a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS). The most common first degree in higher education.

A bachelor's degree is the foundational university qualification, requiring 3 years in most of Europe and the UK (under the Bologna Process) or 4 years in the US, Canada, and many Asian countries. Common variants include Bachelor of Arts (BA) for humanities and social sciences, Bachelor of Science (BS/BSc) for STEM fields, and professional bachelor's degrees like BEng and BBA. The degree typically requires completing a major field of study along with general education requirements and, in some systems, a capstone project or thesis.
