A standardized undergraduate application platform accepted by over 1,000 colleges and universities, allowing students to apply to multiple institutions with one form.
The Common Application (Common App) is a nonprofit platform that streamlines the college application process, accepted by over 1,000 member institutions across the US and internationally. Students complete one application with demographic information, activities, and a personal essay, then submit it to multiple schools. Individual universities may require supplemental essays or materials. The platform has significantly increased application volumes since its founding in 1975, with a particularly sharp rise after going fully online.
