A ranking metric measuring the proportion of international students and faculty at a university, reflecting its global reach and multicultural environment.
The international diversity index combines the percentages of international students and international faculty to gauge a university's global appeal and multicultural environment. QS allocates 10% of its total ranking weight to these two indicators (5% each). Universities in English-speaking countries and global hubs tend to score highest, while institutions in countries with language barriers or restrictive visa policies may score lower despite strong academic programs.
