A coalition of five Australian universities focused on practical, industry-oriented education and applied research: Curtin, RMIT, UTS, QUT, and UniSA.
The Australian Technology Network (ATN) is an alliance of five Australian universities with a focus on applied and industry-linked research: Curtin University, RMIT University, University of Technology Sydney, Queensland University of Technology, and the University of South Australia. Established in 1995, ATN universities were formerly institutes of technology that gained university status in the 1980s-90s. They emphasize work-integrated learning, industry partnerships, and real-world problem solving. ATN universities collectively have over 250,000 students and maintain particularly strong connections with the technology, business, and creative industries sectors. They provide an alternative to the more research-focused Group of Eight model.
