Erasmus Programme

A European Union exchange program enabling students to study at partner universities across 33+ countries for one semester or year.

The Erasmus Programme (European Region Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students) is the EU's flagship educational exchange program, enabling over 300,000 students annually to study or intern at partner institutions across 33+ participating countries. Since its launch in 1987, over 12 million participants have benefited from Erasmus mobility. The current Erasmus+ program (2021-2027) has a budget of €26 billion and extends beyond student exchange to include staff mobility, institutional partnerships, and capacity building. Erasmus participants receive grants to cover travel and cost-of-living differences, and credits earned abroad are recognized through the ECTS framework.
