GPA
Grade Point Average — a numerical representation of a student's academic performance, typically on a 4.0 scale (US) or percentage-based (other countries).
Grade Point Average (GPA) is the standard measure of academic performance in many education systems, with the US using a 4.0 scale where A=4.0, B=3.0, C=2.0, and D=1.0. Weighted GPAs can exceed 4.0 when Advanced Placement or honors courses receive bonus points. International systems vary widely — the UK uses degree classifications (First, 2:1, 2:2), Germany uses a 1.0-5.0 scale (1.0 being best), and many Asian countries use percentage-based systems. GPA conversion across systems remains a challenge for international admissions.
