📝 Admissions & Applications
Waitlist
A list of qualified applicants who are neither admitted nor rejected, and may receive an offer if admitted students decline their spots.
The waitlist is a tool universities use to manage enrollment uncertainty — qualified applicants are placed in a holding pool and may receive offers if enough admitted students choose other institutions. Waitlist acceptance rates vary wildly, from 0% at some schools to 50%+ at others, and vary significantly year to year. Students on the waitlist are typically advised to commit to another institution while maintaining their waitlist position as a backup option.
