المساعدة المالية
أي تمويل (منح دراسية، مِنَح، قروض، عمل دراسي) يساعد الطلاب على تحمل تكاليف الجامعة. يمكن أن يكون قائمًا على الحاجة (دخل الأسرة) أو الجدارة (التحصيل الأكاديمي).
المساعدة المالية مصطلح شامل لجميع أشكال التمويل التي تساعد الطلاب على تحمل تكاليف التعليم الجامعي. وقد تشمل حزم المساعدة منحًا ومِنَحًا دراسية (مساعدة مجانية لا تتطلب سدادًا)، وقروضًا (أموال مقترضة بفائدة)، وعملًا دراسيًا (توظيف داخل الحرم الجامعي). وفي الولايات المتحدة، يُعد طلب FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) البوابة الرئيسية للمساعدة الفدرالية والولائية والمؤسسية. ويواجه الطلاب الدوليون مشهدًا مختلفًا للمساعدة المالية — إذ تقدم بعض الدول دعمًا حكوميًا ممولًا، بينما تقدم أخرى مساعدة محدودة لغير المواطنين. ويُعد فهم الفرق بين "السعر المُعلَن" و"السعر الصافي" (بعد المساعدة) أمرًا محوريًا لمقارنة تكاليف الجامعات.
