IELTS

International English Language Testing System — a globally recognized English proficiency test with Academic and General Training versions. Scored on a 1-9 band scale.

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is jointly managed by the British Council, IDP Education, and Cambridge Assessment English. The Academic version is used for university admissions, while General Training is used for immigration and employment. IELTS scores range from 1-9 in half-band increments across listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Most universities require an overall band score of 6.5-7.0, with some programs setting minimum scores for individual sections.
