Higher Education in Haiti
Haiti's higher education sector includes approximately 25 institutions, severely underdeveloped due to chronic political instability, poverty, and the catastrophic 2010 earthquake that damaged major campuses. The State University of Haiti (UEH), founded in 1820, is the primary public institution. French and Haitian Creole are used in instruction, and quality assurance enforcement remains very weak.
