Higher Education in Iran
Iran operates one of the largest higher education systems in the Middle East, with over 2,500 institutions enrolling more than 4 million students. The Ministry of Science, Research and Technology oversees public universities, while the Ministry of Health supervises medical education. Sharif University of Technology, University of Tehran, and Amirkabir University of Technology are among the most prestigious institutions. Instruction is primarily in Persian (Farsi), though postgraduate programs increasingly use English.
