Higher Education in Kuwait

Kuwait's higher education system is anchored by Kuwait University, the country's sole public university, established in 1966. The Private Universities Council regulates a growing private sector that includes the American University of Kuwait and Gulf University for Science and Technology, where instruction is entirely in English. The Ministry of Higher Education administers a generous scholarship program funding Kuwaiti students at overseas institutions.
