Higher Education in Morocco

Morocco operates a dual higher education system comprising public universities under the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, and a network of selective grandes écoles modelled on the French system. Mohammed V University in Rabat is the largest public institution. The country has over 120 higher education establishments enrolling more than one million students. Arabic and French are both used as media of instruction, with ongoing debate about Arabisation and Amazigh language integration.
