Higher Education in North Macedonia
North Macedonia's higher education includes Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje (the country's oldest, founded 1949) and several newer public and private universities. The sector is regulated by the Higher Education Accreditation Board and has been gradually aligning with the Bologna Process since the country's European integration aspirations intensified. Instruction is primarily in Macedonian, with Albanian-language programmes at South East European University in Tetovo serving the country's large Albanian-speaking minority.
