Higher Education in Mauritania

Mauritania's higher education system is governed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and is centred on the University of Nouakchott Al Aasriya, the country's main public university. Enrollment has grown steadily but remains limited relative to youth population. Arabic and French are both used as media of instruction across different faculties and disciplines.
