Higher Education in Maldives

The Maldives National University, established in 2011 by upgrading the Maldives College of Higher Education, is the country's main public institution offering undergraduate and some postgraduate programs. A small number of private institutions and overseas partnerships supplement domestic provision for a population of around 500,000. Dhivehi and English are both used as media of instruction.
