Higher Education in Norway
Norway's higher education is dominated by public universities and university colleges funded largely by the state, with no tuition fees for domestic and most international students at public institutions. The University of Oslo (founded 1811) and NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology) are the most prominent research universities; all institutions are accredited by NOKUT (Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education). English is widely used alongside Norwegian, especially at postgraduate level, and Norway ranks highly in research output, innovation indices, and graduate employment rates.
