Higher Education in Palestine
Palestinian higher education includes universities in both the West Bank and Gaza, with Birzeit University (founded 1924) and An-Najah National University among the most prominent institutions. The Ministry of Education and Higher Education, together with the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission (AQAC), oversee standards across more than 15 universities. The sector has expanded despite severe constraints imposed by prolonged conflict and restrictions on movement, and instruction is primarily in Arabic.
