Higher Education in South Sudan
South Sudan has a nascent higher education sector severely disrupted by years of civil conflict, with the University of Juba (1977) serving as the primary public institution and a small number of private and church-affiliated colleges. The Ministry of Higher Education oversees the sector, and instruction is primarily in English. Extremely limited infrastructure, faculty shortages, and ongoing insecurity constrain enrolment and degree completion across all four institutions.
