Higher Education in Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan's higher education system has undergone significant reform since 2017, expanding from around 67 to over 113 institutions with the opening of international branch campuses including Turin Polytechnic, Webster University, and branches of South Korean and Russian universities. The National University of Uzbekistan (1920) and Tashkent State Technical University are the primary public institutions. Instruction is primarily in Uzbek and Russian, and the government has prioritised higher education expansion as part of broader economic modernisation.
