Higher Education in Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe's higher education system includes around 19 accredited institutions led by the University of Zimbabwe (1955) in Harare, the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Bulawayo, and Chinhoyi University of Technology. The Zimbabwe Council for Higher Education (ZIMCHE) oversees quality assurance. Instruction is in English, and while the country has a historically high literacy rate, decades of economic instability and emigration of academics have constrained institutional capacity and research output.
