American College Testing — a standardized exam accepted by U.S. colleges, covering English, Math, Reading, and Science. Scored on a 1-36 composite scale.
The ACT is an alternative standardized admissions test to the SAT, scored on a composite scale of 1-36 across four sections: English, Math, Reading, and Science. An optional Writing section is also available. The ACT is accepted by all US colleges and is particularly popular in the Midwest and South. Unlike the SAT, the ACT includes a dedicated Science section testing data interpretation and scientific reasoning skills.
